A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 3

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 3 Review

Season 3 of A Series of Unfortunate Events shows us the outcome of the three Baudelaire Orphans – who have grown up massively since we first saw them in Season 1. My dad (Lee Boardman) reviewed Series 1 in 2017 but in my opinion, I believe Season 3 was the best. After taking a break from the Baudelaire’s run from Count Olaf, Dad and I spent most of our evenings progressing through Season 3 when it first came out.

Season 3 begins by addressing the cliff-hanger at the end of season 2. Violet and Klaus spend most of their time searching for Sunny – kidnapped by Olaf’s troupe – and navigating their way through the Mortmain Mountains. We see many familiar faces, Carmelita Spats being one of them! However, we also meet many new characters: a survivor of a particular fire, a pregnant woman in charge of a Sugar Bowl, a girl in charge of the QueeQueg, three identical hotel managers and many more.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Despite many devastating deaths, the Baudelaires manage to continue running from Count Olaf – and the Medusoid Mycelium. I have to say that I prefer the tv series over the books, I felt the books dragged a little bit and that author Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler) ‘waffled’ on a bit. I also believe that the show told a lot more than the books as I was feeling slightly confused when completing the 13th final book.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

I’d very happily recommend the show to anyone even if they haven’t read the books. I loved following the Baudelaires as they triumphed in overpowering Count Olaf every two episodes. To conclude my very first review successfully, I have to give A Series of Unfortunate Events a Board Rating of 5! Thanks for reading 🙂
