So, Cassidy wonders if The Saint Of Killers is some kind of Terminator… Well, after yet another impressive opening scene, you’d be forgiven for thinking as much. The motel that Jesse and Co are staying in just happens to be full of gun enthusiasts, so when The Saint Of Killers shows up and starts firing, it’s the perfect excuse for a gun fight. The Saint literally shakes off all the bullets they pepper him with, and seems unaffected, but just a little bit pissed off, by being hit with a grenade launcher. Worse still, Genesis has no effect on him and he proceeds to take out his attackers with force, stalking the motel corridors in search of Jesse, picking off anyone who gets in his way.
The rest of the episode focuses on Fiore, who is feeling pretty depressed after the events of last season. Without his best friend, and unable to return to heaven, his repeated suicides cannot even free him from his pain. Eventually, he turns his inability to die into an act at a small casino. He appears on stage, only to be murdered in various ways, before appearing from offstage unharmed. The crowd love it, and he’s a star, but it does little to ease his suffering. Jesse and Co catch up with him to discover that it was he who hired The Saint of Killers to take out Jesse and after some serious male bonding between Fiore and Cassidy, he agrees to call off The Saint. They’re still no further on in their search for God though, but head off to New Orleans under the theory that Gods love of music will have drawn him there.
Another cracking episode. Really loving the whole Terminator hunter theme going on, although I’m not sure how long it can continue without becoming repetitive, as well as the whole group dynamic between Jesse, Cassidy and Tulip. Great season so far.
