Welcome to our latest roundup of recently released trailers, with thoughts and feedback from each of the team. As always, please let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Richard Jewell

From IMDb: American security guard, Richard Jewell (Paul Walter Hauser), heroically saves thousands of lives from an exploding bomb at the 1996 Olympics, but is unjustly vilified by journalists and the press who falsely report that he was a terrorist. UK release date yet to be confirmed

Lee Boardman

“I do like a movie based on a true story from recent history, something you might not be fully aware of, but is truly deserving of a movie adaptation. Richard Jewell is directed by Clint Eastwood, and I loved his movie ‘The Mule’ from earlier this year, so am very interested in seeing this one.”

Deb Parmenter

“I’m ashamed to admit I know nothing of this story but from the trailer alone want to find out more. With Clint Eastwood as director the story will be in safe hands and a stella cast to boot. Hopefully will be able to find time to see it. “

Mark Parmenter

“Like Deb I know very little about this story but I am definitely interested in seeing this film as Clint is a great director & normally is behind some fine movies. If the trailer is anything to go by then this is already on track to be a great film.”

1917

From IMDb: Two young British soldiers during the First World War are given an impossible mission: deliver a message deep in enemy territory that will stop their own men, and Blake’s own brother, from walking straight into a deadly trap. UK release date January 2020

Lee Boardman

” Early last week, a pretty impressive video was released giving a behind the scenes look at how Sam Mendes and Roger Deakins filmed 1917. The movie takes place in real time, set over two hours of a spring day in 1917, so quite a challenge. However, the trailer looks amazing, so hopefully we’re in for a real treat. We’ve already got a great looking war movie heading our way next month in the form of Midway, I’m definitely adding 1917 to my watchlist.”

Deb Parmenter

“This holds far more interest to me than Midway. I can remember lots of movies depicting stories from the second world war but not so many from the first. I’m sure it won’t shy away from the horrors of conflict but the against all odds element and the very British feel have left me wanting to see more.”

Mark Parmenter

“All I have to say is Wow!!!! This movie looks amazing & certainly from the trailer it ticks all the boxes for me in terms of the actors & the way it’s been filmed etc. This already looks set to be a great war movie telling a story in the correct way rather than what we will get from Midway which I fear is another Pearl Harbor (I hope not), so I am preparing myself to be moved by this movie & I hope I’m right. “

Rick & Morty Season 4

From IMDb: An animated series that follows the exploits of a super scientist and his not-so-bright grandson. Season 4 will be airing on Channel 4 but the release date is yet to be confirmed.

Lee Boardman

“In my opinion, Rick and Morty is one of the greatest TV shows ever made, so I’m probably going to be a little biased here. Season 4 has been way too long in coming, so to see so many great characters returning, along with even more of the chaos and craziness that makes this show so amazing, just gets me VERY excited! Just a shame we’re only getting 5 episodes…”

Deb Parmenter

“This is not my bag at all. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen the odd episode and there is the odd joke that’s left me smiling but overall it’s just not my thing. The trailer says 5 episodes and that sounds about right to me I usually get bored after watching two anyway, but I do understand the appeal but will probably give it a miss.”

Mark Parmenter

“Unlike Deb this is totally my bag as I’ve loved all the past seasons I’ve watched & this has been a long time coming! For me it’s a shame it’s only 5 episodes but better than none I guess!”

Birds of Prey

From IMDb: After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord. UK release date February 2020

Lee Boardman

“Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn was probably the only good thing about the Suicide Squad movie, so I’m cautiously optimistic about this new movie. It looks like it could be a lot of fun and certainly features a great cast”

Deb Parmenter

“I hope this is as good as the trailer makes it look. Margot Robbie’s definitely having fun again bringing Harley Quinn to the screen and Ewan McGregor to boot – feeling hopeful this will be much better than the Suicide Squad.

Mark Parmenter

“I absolutely love the look of this & think Margot as Harley is perfect casting so hoping it is definitely better than Suicide Squad which really was a missed opportunity. This just looks like it will be a good fun movie & I hope I’m not wrong.”
