I’ve just left the cinema having seen the highly anticipated movie Hereditary and I’m in shock. Not because it’s scary, or unsettling, or any of the other things that so many other glowing reviews have mentioned. No, I’m in shock because I don’t think I’ve ever been in a cinema where so many people have walked out throughout the movie from sheer boredom. Where so many people have laughed out loud together at scenes which are clearly meant to be serious and shocking, but are just plain ridiculous. And where so many people have all left the cinema commenting on how shit it was, and what a waste of two hours it was.
Slowly building up tension, but never actually delivering, Hereditary was just a complete and utter disappointment.
Web developer by day, with a movie and TV watchlist that continues to grow as much as my spare time reduces! My favourite movie is Inception and, despite what everyone says, I do not have a man-crush on Tom Cruise.
