Midnight Special quickly sets us up with a heck of a lot of questions needing to be answered. Slowly we’re fed small pieces of information, which begin to answer some of them, but more and more questions follow right behind and the movie ends up riding high on the vague-ometer way too long for my liking. To the point where I stopped caring about the story.
Which is a shame because this movie is dotted with glimmers of what could have been a great story. The last 15 minutes or so are amazing. But it just wasn’t enough to pull things back for me.
Web developer by day, with a movie and TV watchlist that continues to grow as much as my spare time reduces! My favourite movie is Inception and, despite what everyone says, I do not have a man-crush on Tom Cruise.
